About the company
Fertilizantes de la Costa Atlántica (FERCO) is a distributor of fertilizers, as well as the most recognized brands of agrochemical specialties and laboratories worldwide.
They have a team with more than 30 years of experience in fields such as production, distribution and sale of fertilizers in Mexico and Latin America.
Logistics are handled through its bulk handling, blending and bagging warehouses, located in the ports of Altamira, Veracruz and Coatzacoalcos, as well as an important network of direct sales points to the producer.
The Challange
FERCO serves customers throughout Mexico.
Their goal is to offer best-in-class service and deliver the desired results quickly. Doing so means providing their customers, in addition to the product, with a recommendation on the most efficient way to use it.
Hiring technology is not easy; identifying and committing to the right one is a critical piece of the challenging puzzle in today's market, where competition for new customers is at an all-time high.
FERCO needed a solution that would provide the best data, an actionable view of the soil in the most representative sectors, taking into account their variability. Generating a faster way to connect the information through a technological solution with the analysis laboratory.
Result
FERCO introduced Soil-tech into its technology stack and almost immediately recognized the power and potential of the product to create lasting benefits for its business. Time has shown that Soil-tech is undoubtedly the right choice to help them scale their business.
Soil-tech enables FERCO to go beyond traditional wholesale, using best-in-class data to create and share in detail exactly the inputs the soil needs.
(LAYERS and Soil Tech allow us to provide our clients with updated information on crop development, streamlining decision making, as well as nutrient maps and nutrition recommendations customized and specific to the requirements of their soil and crop.
Soiltech provides the ability to locate samples at the most representative points. One of the main features of Soil-tech is the ability to leverage analytics combined with satellite data to generate variable soil maps of micro- and macro-elements as well as some of the physical and chemical composition of the soil needed to provide fertilization recommendations.
OUTCOME
FERCO users can fertilize the soil in a variable way and/or optimize the use of their resources through the application of formulas specifically designed for their crop conditions.
FERCO is revolutionizing the agricultural industry in Mexico by converting its products into services and providing its customers with crucial information on the use of inputs. In addition to providing products that solve plantation challenges, they also present data that make plantation management more efficient, which translates into big savings.
