HEMAV achieves more than 50% savings on herbicides

58.42% of herbicide saved on 19 Ha, thanks to the alerts of our LAYERS system. The negative impact of weeds is HUGE. Reducing crop yield by up to 30% according to the WSSA. Generating extra costs by hindering the harvesting process, rendering the machines unusable for hours at a time. Moreover, if they are not eliminated, they contribute to the increase of the weed seed bank, which may damage future work.

In this #sugarcane example, the #satellite information facilitated the identification of anomalies and the #drone information allows us to perform localized variable application.

In this example, the LAYERS automatic alert service identified an alert on this plot.. After analyzing it with the #VigorVegetative#NDVI layer, it was decided to perform a #drone flight to detect the areas of #weeds.

Thanks to HEMAV’s #ComputerVision system, it was possible to generate a map with the location of the weeds in order to apply herbicides in a localized manner. The evolution of the treated surfaces can be monitored.

In this case we see a clear example of how LAYERS alerts, delimits the problem and allows us to decide how to react. With two or three clicks, it is possible to extract a #shapefile from the #LAYERS itself to make targeted variable spraying in the affected area, contributing to the efficient use of inputs. All through #LAYERS and with the #objective of defining management strategies.

Specifically, users clearly identify the area with #weeds and can take this information into account in operations. The power of #data also comes from having all the information at #a #click for the #management of the company for both external and internal processes.
